Camp Volunteers are individuals who come up to support events for the day usually on a Saturday for areas such as ranges, COPE, and climbing.
Crew members are individuals who come up to work during the first Saturday of the month helping with maintenance or anything else that camp needs. Crew members may be promoted to Crew Bosses to lead a work party if they have a specialized skill or are consistently attending work parties and show leadership.
Seasonal Staff arrive at camp on Fridays to greet campers and stay through until they check out units on Sunday. They support any programming that occurs on Saturday including the store, museum, or anything else a unit might request.
A camp volunteer commits to working the day at camp in their specific area to support the requests of the units camping that weekend. One day commitment that could be 4 times a month or as low as 1 time a month.
A Crew Party member attends the first Saturday work parties and supports the crew boss in whatever they are doing for that weekend. Whether it’s clearing a trail or building a new picnic table the crew party member supports their crew to accomplish the task they are given on that day.
Seasonal Staff commit to at least three WKND’s or Events where they stay from Friday to Sunday greeting and supporting units as they come in and camp. Other projects may take place on the Saturday if the units do not need or request much from the staff that weekend.
Summer Staff commit to a full summer or at least one week of summer to support the running of Fire Mountain’s Summer Camp Program. Summer staff have a strong commitment to tradition, inclusiveness, and fun while supporting each other when needed.
With adventure, fun and discovery at every turn, Scouting makes the most of right now.
