In Scouts we are all about adventure and after the last few years we are on a mission to help families discover how Scouting can help them get Skills for Life and Memories Forever! Together, let’s get back to adventures! Back to fun, family, and friends! Back to helping young people become the best future versions of themselves. We’re all ready to put down our screens (even if just for a few moments) to experience “real”. Real nature, real friendships, real excitement! It’s time to help families discover Scouting! Here are resources to find and engage interested families.
Don’t worry, you aren’t in this alone, the Council Membership Team has your back. The plans and materials on this page are meant to support our efforts as a movement to offer Scouting to every family! Work the plan and we hope the plan will work for you.
In order to help us guide families to your Pack we are asking for some key information from every Cub Pack. This information will be used to promote your join night and connect prospective Scouting families to YOUR pack.
This form is also used to request flyers, and check out Meet and Greet boxes.
Return completed forms to your appropriate District Professional.

In addition to submitting your Membership Plan, you can have the Council promote your join event to targeted audiences in your area. To submit your join event fill out the information requested in the form below.
Please note, requesting Join Event promotion does not take the place of submitting the Membership Plan.
With fewer paper flyers going home and limited visibility in schools, many Districts are turning to PeachJar to reach families directly. If your unit wants to promote a Join Scouting Event or other recruiting event, the Council is here to help!
The Council will handle the upload and ensure your flyer is placed in the right PeachJar distribution list, helping your message reach families in your local community. All flyers submitted that promote a Scouting activity or event—like a “Join Scouting Event”—are automatically geo-fenced so your message reaches families right in your neighborhood!
Design a Flyer That Inspires Adventure. Be sure your flyer meets these guidelines, so it looks sharp, informative, and full of adventure.
· Include the Logo: Every flyer must feature the Scouting America logo — let everyone know you’re part of something bigger!
[Link]
· Share the Basics: Make sure your flyer clearly answers the Who, What, When, and Where — the key details families need to join the fun.
· Add Contact Info: Include visible contact information — a phone number and email address so families can connect right away.
· Use a Template: Check out the Mount Baker Council flyer templates for easy customization.

To help Units get out in their community and participate in community events, the Council has created Community Events in a Box. We have also created a list of local events.
Boxes are available by units to check-out. Due to the limited number of boxes and the popularity of them, it is recommended that you contact the Membership Team as early as possible to request a box. We request at least 2 weeks notice prior to your event to reserve the boxes to ensure availability and allow time for delivery.

Knots Box

The Membership Committee has created a spreadsheet that includes events held in each District. Please use this list to find events your Unit can attend to help promote scouting.
The spreadsheet is divided into Districts so be sure to select the appropriate tab at the bottom of the sheet.
If you have an event to add to this spreadsheet, please email the Membership Committee.
To assess the effectiveness of events in which Units are participating, the Membership Committee is asking each Unit to fill out a brief survey after their participation in an event.
It is requested that Units fill out this survey even if they did not check out a Community Event in a Box.

Much of the recruitment materials that we use today directs families to BeaScout.org so it would benefit units and the scouting movement to make sure that this tool is as accurate as possible.
National BSA’s BeAScout.org recruiting web site and tools available to unit leaders via my.scouting.org provide a way for potential members to reach a pack or troop.
